FairPrice Xtra hypermarket has become a hit in Singapore. The stores which opened almost two weeks back have attracted over 250, 000 customers so far. Sources close to the company have confirmed that they did not expect such response.
The company has planned to roll out two more hypermarkets in next three years. It wants to have presence in north, east and west Singapore. Though a source confirmed that this would not mean that the traditional supermarkets, which the company owns will be replaced by such hypermarkets.
