LVMH’s Sephora has identified India, along with China, as a key market to its expansion plans. The multi-brand beauty store chain is working towards 50 stores in the country within the next five years. LVMH will discuss with leading Indian retail companies avenues for partnerships.

LVMH has identified India as one of the most promising markets for luxury goods, while admitting to its concern about the lack of luxury retail environments. In addition to opening Sephora stores, the group will aim to widen the luxury retail environment from the current five-star hotel format to specialty malls in leading Indian cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. The retail concept of these malls will be modelled after LVMH’s DFS Galleria.
