Biyani to foray in Cash-and-carry — compete with Reliance and others

Must Read

Kishore Biyani of Future Group, India’s largest retailer wants to expand in the cash-and-carry (wholesale) business. According to sources, this venture will be named KB’s Wholesale, and is likely to be rolled out by next month. Many experts believe that this step is just to counter the growing competition from the likes of Reliance on all fronts.

First such store will be rolled out in Burdwan in West Bengal and the second in Mathura. The company has plans in place to roll out about 15 such stores in 18 months. Analysts are of the opinion that in coming years cash-and-carry will see a lot of action as giants like Carrefour, Wal-Mart, Kmart and Tesco are likely to enter the country.
