Marks & Spencer launch 2nd Bangalore destination

UK brand Marks & Spencer have opened their second store in Bangalore, at Lido Mall on MG.Road. The store has a carpet area of 5,000 square feet. The other Bangalore location is Garuda Mall.

Marks & Spencer had started its Indian operations in December 2001 with two outlets, at Ansal Plaza in Delhi and Crossroads in Mumbai. In all, there are 12 operational stores in India at the moment – 3 in Mumbai, 2 in New Delhi, 2 in Bangalore, and 1 each in Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow and Gurgaon.

For fiscal 2007, Marks & Spencer Group PLC posted a 29 per cent jump in pre-tax profit to GBP965.2 million. The group has announced intentions to evaluate further expansion in China and India.
