Prateek, the leading domestic player in the apparel design, manufacturing and retail space, has announced its foray into kidswear with the launch of Kanz in Delhi. Kanz is one of Europe’s leading kidswear brands retailed in 30 countries across the globe.
Pradeep Agarwal, managing director, Prateek, said, “We felt there was a gap in quality clothing aesthetically designed for kids and were looking at entering this segment for sometime now. Through this tie-up, we will be providing the best of quality and latest European designs in kidswear in the country. Kanz will be available in 25 major cities through exclusive and multiple brand outlets.”
Ozgur Bender, managing director, Kanz, Germany, said, “India has been a potential market for many big western companies for years now. We were on the lookout for a potential partner to enter the Indian market. Prateek being one of the pioneers in the Indian garment industry, were a natural choice for us to partner with.”
With plans of rolling out 60 outlets in top 25 cities nationally in the first year of its operations, Kanz will be available through a mix of exclusive brand outlets, multi-brand outlets and shop-in-shop at leading large-format stores like Central and Lifestyle. Some of the cities where Kanz will shortly be available include Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam and Kozhikode.
In the near future, efforts will be made to convert the tie-up into a joint venture between Prateek and Kanz, to cover manufacturing, design and retail of Kanz merchandise in India.
