MCPL launches Insignia for men

Menezes Cosmetics India Pvt. Ltd (MCPL), part of the Rs 650 crore Menezes Group of Goa, has launched Insignia, a men’s deodorant range from the UK-based Shulton, for the Indian market. Shulton is well known for its Old Spice range.

The Rs 85 crore turnover MCPL has acquired total rights to sell the product in India, its neighbouring countries, Russia and Africa. Insignia, a deodorant, will be available in five fragrances. It will initially be manufactured in the United Kingdom and imported to India for marketing by MCPL, said GK Bhat, managing director, MCPL.

Plans are on to create a manufacturing base a year from now. The company has units in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Ponda (Goa) and Aurangabad (Maharastra) at present, Bhat told the media at the launch in Hyderabad.

In the next five-six months, the company plans to expand its portfolio with three-four products, including for women.
