After Bollywood Signatures, an apparel brand that Wal-Mart Canada decided to stock in its 20 stores, Bollywood movies and music DVDs will also be present on the retailer’s shelves, as the company has tied up with Eros International, the global distributor of Bollywood movies.
“Internationally, Bollywood as an entertainment category is growing rapidly. Canada is a very important market for us for cinema as well as DVD distribution,” Ken Naz, president (USA), Eros International, said in an issued statement.
According to the company, the DVDs will initially be available in 27 Wal-Mart stores across Canada. However, distribution is expected to be extended to the entire Canadian Wal-Mart network in the future.
Last week, Indiaretailing had reported about Wal-Mart Canada’s tie-up with Ranka Group of Companies to retail Indian apparel under the brand name Bollywood Signatures.
