Tesco is expected to open its first stores in Russia, according to Bloomberg.
The reports say that Tesco has held talks with three property advisers in Russia, and is examining possible store sites, sources confirmed on condition of anonymity.
Tesco is understood to have considered potential franchise partners in Russia. In Russia, the company will have to compete with X5 Retail – the country’s largest supermarket owner, Germany’s Metro and France’s Carrefour.
