New York-based Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) is introducing Bionaire, an air management brand, and Oster, a kitchen appliances brand, in the country this year.
These consumer durable brands will be retailed in the Indian market through multi-brand retail outlets.
“The home solutions products will be sold at Croma, Reliance Digital, E-Zone and Hypercity, among other Indian retailers. The brands will also be retailed through international chains such as Wal-Mart and Carrefour, as and when they enter India,” said Daniel Zarate, acting managing director of JCS India.
Other brands in the company’s portfolio include Sunbeam, Patton, Rival, Holmes and Villaware, and are expected to be introduced in India.
The company will focus on growth in metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Bengaluru. The products will be sourced from its manufacturing sites and vendors in China, Mexico and Venezuela.
The company is also looking at options to source from vendors within the country. India is the first Asian market for Jarden, despite the company having a huge manufacturing facility in China, approximating over a million square feet.
“We studied the Indian market for two years and find it a more lucrative market than China. We are developing innovative air purifiers, heaters and fans that we have specifically designed for the Indian market, and will continue to do so,” said Zarate.
