Ahmedabad-based denim manufacturer Aarvee Denims and Exports Ltd has planned to strengthen its retail operations, and will introduce international brands in the Indian market. The company is believed to be in talks with several foreign labels including GAP.
“The talks are still at early stages and we are waiting for our domestic retail presence to reach a level of around 100 stores before we can sign a deal,” said Ashish Shah, managing director of Aarvee Denims Ltd.
The company is considering options to be the master franchisee of the brand in India. “Through the agreement, we are considering two options. First, we may offer to be the master franchisee of the brand in India. Second, we may take up garment manufacturing outsourcing for them,” said a senior official of Aarvee Denims.
Presently, the company operates around 20 stores of its private label ‘De Extase’ across the country and plans to add around 100 stores by the end of the fiscal 2008-09.
