Bengaluru-based jewellery business house C Krishniah Chetty & Sons entered into a joint venture with Tolkowsky, the renowned European diamond house. Announcing the joint venture, C Vinod Hayagriv, managing director of C Krishniah Chetty & Sons and Jean Paul Tolkowsky, head of Tolkowsky business house, said that the 50:50 JV would be a marriage between two prominent brands with a great heritage and pedigree.
Under the JV, six collections of Tolkowsky will be retailed through C Krishniah Chetty & Sons. Each collection is priced at Rs 35,000 and above. Tolkowsky collections will be crafted at C Krishniah & Sons’ production facilities in Thailand and India.
As of now, the collections will be available at C Krishniah Chetty & Sons’ signature store – a 14,000 square feet flagship store in Bengaluru, wherein Tolkowsky collections have got about 500 square feet of exclusive space. According to Hayagriv, the plans are to open five more such stores in the near future.
C Krishniah Chetty & Sons is a five generations-old family-owned business with a history of 135 years. The history of Tolkowsky dates back to 200 years. Tolkowsky is famous as the world’s largest diamond cutter, and creator of the world’s largest polished diamond – the Golden Jubilee.
