The realty stocks at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) had an eight per cent decline with realty major DLF experiencing a fall of 5.66 per cent at Rs 480.05. This is DLF’s steepest fall ever.
Unitech recorded a 52-week low of Rs 189, while Indiabulls Realty, Ansal Infrastructure and HDIL were down by 6.65 per cent, 8.63 per cent, and 6.66 per cent, respectively.
According to analysts, being a high-beta sector, when the overall market sentiment is weak, real estate stocks tend to perform poorly and in the present market scenario, it will be a while before the sector revives.
