At a time when the economic slowdown has caused most of the corporate India to distribute pink slips, Future Axiom, India’s mobile distribution and retail company, behaved otherwise. With the launch of its mobile retail brand One Mobile, the joint venture company, between India’s retail major, Future Group and Gulf region’s mobile retail giant, has announced that the company will increase its current manpower by 400 per cent by December 2009.
The development will come as an attempt to intensify company’s presence to reach more than 58 cities in India. “Subsequent to our recently launched operations, we are on an aggressive growth path. We plan to serve pan-India and operate in more than 58 cities through 1500 stores and touch points by December 2009. Currently, we employ about 1200 people and there are plans to double the managerial staff and increase the retail staff strength to 5000 people by December 2009,” said Faisal Al Bannai, managing director, Future Axiom Telecom.
