Tata Group’s software services and consulting arm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announcede its partnership with the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) in order to develop IT solutions for the 11,000-member apparel/textile companies registered with the latter. The new alliance will bring ‘IT-as-a-service’ model for the apparel industry and help in the creation of new growth opportunities and service level capabilities, claimed a company press release.
Commenting on the development, Ashok Rajani, vice chairman, AEPC said, “Our industry is at a crossroads with the global outlook. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) need IT that grows with business, both in scale and business models. I look at TCS’ IT-a-as-service catering to both.”
“For SMBs, it is not just about efficiency, but the speed in responding to global opportunities. IT-as-a service is about managing the IT for the SMB by treating every business as unique.” added Venguswamy Ramaswamy, global head, TCS.
