Eveready launches battery-operated Homelight

Leading battery manufacturer Eveready has launched its new lighting product Homelight. The new offering is based on light emitting diode (LED) technology.

The company is trying to rope in panchayats, self-help groups, non-government organisations and microfinance groups to provide easy finance options to villagers to own battery-operated Homelight that costs just Rs 350, reports The Hindu.

The company, which has a strong nationwide network of 4,000 distributors and eight-lakh outlets, also wants to help poor villagers to own Homelight, added the report.
