Aditya Birla Retail eyes 15 pc revenue from private labels

Diversified business group Aditya Birla Retail is targeting 10-15 per cent revenue from its private labels business in the next two-three years. As part of the plan, the company plans to expand its private labels portfolio into segments such as personal care products including hair oil, hair styling gel, shaving creams and gels and toothpaste, according to media reports.

“Private labels business now contributes around 3 per cent to our revenue. We plan to increase the figure to 10-15 per cent in the next three years,” quoted Thomas Varghese, CEO, Aditya Birla Retail in the reports.

“Initially the products would be launched in Vishakapatnam by March on a pilot basis. Depending on the market feedback we will then enter other markets,” added Varghese in the reports.

Currently, the company sells private labels in food product categories under the brand name Feasters that include ketchups, jams, honey, carbonated drinks, chips and cookies.
