Lifestyle and luggage brand Victorinox India plans to invest Rs 500 million in India by 2011-12. Further, the company will focus more on branding and distribution in the country, reports Business Line.
According to the report, the brand internationally known as the maker of the original Swiss army knife, said it is also mulling expansion into the apparels segment.
Victorinox’s travel line starts at a price point of Rs 2,500 onwards. Anish Goel, managing director, Victorinox India, told Business Line that the company will be funding the expansions through internal accruals and also with funds from the parent company.
Meanwhile, Goel quoted in the report that Victorinox is engaged in talks with several organised retail outlets to set up shop-in-shops besides scaling its existing distribution set up. Victorinox products are also available in over 600 multi-brand outlets and shop-in-shops.
