Apparel retailer Provogue (India) Ltd is planning to spend 450 million rupees to open more stores that sell discounted fashion apparel in an effort to attract increasingly price-sensitive customers, reports Wall Street Journal.
“We have budgeted for 10 more Promart stores,” quoted managing director Nikhil Chaturvedi in the report.
The company runs 126 Provogue stores, measuring 1,000 to 1,600 square feet each, which sell fashion apparel and accessories for men and women under the Provogue brand. It operates two Promart stores, measuring about 25,000 square feet each, where it sells national and international brands at a discount. It also sells its own brand at discounted rates at these stores.
