The Tharanco group, which acquired Greg Norman collection in the month of February this year, is now looking out for a joint venture with the American brand — Poleci — for bringing it in the Indian territory. Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Haresh Tharani, founder and chairman, Tharanco Group, stated, “We currently sell Poleci through exclusive trunk shows. We are interested in JV with our Poleci brand which is perfect for India. We are speaking to interested parties for self standing retail stores as we have in NYC, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.”
The Tharanco Group, which is a private holding company that includes real estate investments, private equity investments, and an established apparel arm, also plans to rejig its operational strategy for Greg Norman collection in the country.
Tharanco has a foundation based in private brand manufacturing and brand management. For Greg Norman, the subsidiary of Mac Gregor Golf Company, Tharanco plans to work together with BTB Marketing as their partner in India. Tharani stated, “Our goal is to provide the best in class products, service and innovation. That is what the brand (Greg Norman) stands for and exemplifies. We believe that our sophisticated sourcing and back-end operations will help make an already strong brand even stronger.”
Tharani further informed, “We are working towards creating a complete Greg Norman lifestyle in India, which includes partnering closely with Fosters to identify a distributor and launch Greg Norman Estates fine wines into India.”
