Indian supply chain and logistics major Safexpress Pvt Ltd has launched its largest logistics park in Nagpur. Spread across an area of 11,90,000 square feet, the park promises to provide cutting edge cross-dock trans-shipment and third party logistics (3PL) facilities to its clients, according to a company press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Vineet Kanaujia, GM – marketing, Safexpress said, “We will be creating 5 million square feet of additional warehousing space across the country in the next couple of years, adding to our already existing warehousing space of 5 million square feet. Once ready, these logistics parks will totally redefine the way supply chain functions in the country today.”
“Rising investment in infrastructure, growth in organised retail business and the Government’s decision to cut excise duty rates for manufacturing goods would further boost the demand for warehousing business. A large number of upcoming special economic zone (SEZs) have necessitated the development of logistics parks for the domestic market as well as for global trade. With the phasing out of Central Sales Tax (CST) by 2010, manufacturers will readily outsource their warehousing requirements to the third party. This will help the manufacturers to save costs and to focus on their core business,” he added.
Safexpress provides express distribution, third party logistics (3PL) services and supply chain consulting. The company plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 10 billion by 2010, added the release.
