Croma, the electronic and consumer durables mega-stores chain from the House of Tata, plans to add around 40 products in the small appliances and personal care categories under its private label business, a top company official said.
“This year we plan to add another 40 products taking the total number of our private label products to 80. We will introduce a lot of new and innovative products in small appliances and personal care categories. Existing products in this category are getting a good response,” said Infiniti Retail’s CEO and managing director, Ajit Joshi.
Infinity Retail, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, owns the Croma brand.
In just six months, the company has launched 40 odd private label products including laptops, feet massagers, steam irons, microwaves, foot spa for ladies, wine coolers, split ACs, vaccum cleaners, blenders, kettles and toasters, among others.
“We have received a good response from customers. Our products are doing good business. We are not negotiating on quality. Proper checking is conducted at the pre-and-post- production level,” Joshi said.
Croma laptops are the latest to have been added to the private label category and the company plans to introduce different types of laptops soon.
