Big Cinemas, part of Reliance ADAG promoted Adlabs Films Ltd, has partnered with London-based More2Screen to offer alternative content programme to its audience. As part of the plan, Big Cinemas will screen pre-recorded operas and concerts at selected multiplexes in India, according to the company.
Commenting on this development, Tushar Dhingra, COO, BIG Cinemas said, “Global awareness among Indian audiences has made them desirous for distinct international experiences. By screening opera at BIG Cinemas we are not just providing an enriching cultural experience to our audience but also giving them a chance to enjoy opera in the best seats and at a very affordable price.”
Big Cinemas has planned to open the show at the end of June and will screen internationally acclaimed operas such as La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar) in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kolkata.
