The division of the largest coffee conglomerate–Amalgamated Coffee Trading Company Ltd, Cafe Coffee Day(CCD) is planning to launch a new menu across metro cities of India. Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Ramchander Raman, head of food & beverage, Cafe Coffee Day, informed, “While we have been in an expansion mode opening 30-40 outlets every month, we are also shortly launching our new menu offering, starting from metro town—Delhi. The menu would then reach other metro towns as well.”
“Out of the range of products we have identified in the menu, some will be localised to the tastes of the consumers. For instance, in Delhi the customisation would be different from that in Bangalore. The products then, would be adopted to a cafe culture.”
“Our menu proposition would be two pronged—offering the best and unique products. Our unique products would have something adding extra value to even the most common snack, such as a samosa,” Raman informed.
The coffee chain has recently launched its new ‘Layers’ range of signature coffees which the company terms as its ‘Winter Collection ’09’. The range has enticng flavours of coffee such as the Arctic Sun which has layers of vanilla ice cream laced with dark chocolate sauce; Level Three—Irish crème flavoued Kaapi with a spicy overtone and others.
