The Nucleus mall, Kochi, which was supposed to become operational in June this year, has pushed ahead the inauguration to August 2010. Developed by Kerala-based ABAD Builders, the mall has a total area of 2.3 lakh sq.ft – 1.25 lakh sq.ft allocated for retail, 45,000 sq.ft for office arcade and 60,000 sq.ft for service area.
Speaking exclusively to IndiaRetailing, Prince Varghese, deputy general manager, ABAD Builders, said, “The Nucleus mall will become operational in August this year. It is 70 per cent occupied and 85 per cent leased.”
Talking about the retailers present at the mall, Varghese said, “Some of the key anchors that have signed a deal with the mall are Max and Boomerang Family Entertainment, while Vision Express, Navigator, Fila and Baby Care are some of the vanilla retailers.”
Developed at a total investment of approximately Rs 60 crore, the mall has different retail rental models, including pure lease rental, revenue share and minimum guarantee, with retailers.
