India’s first-ever planned hill city – Lavasa (near Pune) – has attracted private healthcare group Apollo to plan a 200 acre wellness island amidst its 25,000 acre space. The project focuses on wellness and rejuvenation programs, attracting an investment around Rs2,000 crore. With the launch of the center, residents, visitors and communities around Lavasa will have an access to various wellness services and stimulating body treatments. The hospital will later be equipped to provide services in the departments of orthopaedics, paediatrics, rehabilitation, obstetrics , gynecology, cardiology, emergency medicine and gastroenterology. Oncology, IVF, neurology and other specialties will be introduced later in a phased manner. Lavasa is India’s first hill city being developed by Lavasa Corporation Ltd, a part of the HCC Group.
