In an exclusive tie-up with Spencer’s Retail Ltd, Ecko Unltd – an international fashion brand from the house of Marc Ecko – has forayed into the Indian market by launching its first exclusive store in Delhi. The 1,200 sq.ft store, which also houses Ecko Red, was inaugurated at DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, on August 11. Marc Ecko has both the minimum guarantee and revenue-sharing models with the mall.
On the launch of the store, K Dasaratharaman, president, speciality retail, Spencer’s Retail Ltd, said, “The tie-up with Marc Ecko is in line with our commitment to offer international fashion to Indian consumers. We are positive that Ecko Unltd will write an unparalleled story for itself.”
Stressing that today’s youth is on the lookout for international, trendy and edgy fashion, Dasaratharaman said, “We are sure that with strong roots in youth culture, Ecko Unltd and Ecko Red will become the touchstone of a new generation.”
Informing that company will spend Rs.5 crore on the brand this fiscal, he said, “We are planning to expand across the country. We are currently looking at the Delhi, Mumbai and Punjab markets.”
Spencer’s Retail Limited, part of the Rs.15,500-crore RPG Group, is a multi-format retailer providing a wide range and assortment of products to consumers. The Group runs about 200 stores, including about 30 large format stores across 50 cities in India, focussing on verticals such as food and grocery, fruits and vegetables, home and office essentials, garments and fashion accessories, toys, food and personal care, music, books and mobility solutions, among others.
