Must Read

The British-Dutch FMCG giant, Unilever, is going to snap up US-based hair and skincare products manufacturer, Alberto Culver, for $3.7 billion to expand its personal care product portfolio. The deal will add hair and skincare products, such as TRESemmé, Nexxus, Alberto VO5, Noxzema and St.Ives, to Unilever’s shampoo and conditioning brands. According to latest industry reports, Unilever plans to significantly increase sales of Alberto Culver products in developing markets, where demand for shampoo, hair conditioner, soap and other personal care products is on a rise. The agreed all-cash acquisition is Unilever’s largest since the group paid $24.3 billion for Bestfoods ten years ago.
