Dubai-based designer, Ayesha Depala, presented her collections at the HDIL India Couture Week. It was her first time at the Couture week.
Ayesha Depala presented a seminal collection of 30 exquisite gowns. This is perhaps the first time the organizers invited a non-resident Indian designer to showcase a collection.
Depala commented, “It is an honour to be given this platform. India is an important market where I have many loyal clients. I hope I am able to reach a larger audience with this show.”
The collection will travel back to Dubai where it will be shown during the famous Parisian Who’s Next Premiere Classe trade show at the Al Johara Ballroom in the Madinat Jumeirah on October 21, 2010.
Drawing inspiration from the magnificence of the Mughal era, Depala presented a stunning collection of Red Carpet gowns. Each piece epitomizes the opulence and grandeur of the age, yet keeping within the boundaries of her understated elegance. The designs mostly sported thread work, sequins and metallic cut work. The colour palette ranged from her signature nude, to peacock blue, rouge noir, mustard yellow, mint and purple.
The collection is designed for the modern global woman, a woman who appreciates the merit of beautifully constructed works of art for the female form.
