Health club chain Talwalkars Better Value Fitness Ltd has launched its centres in Kolkata and Guwahati, spreading its reach to 50 cities with 100 gyms.
“We are extremely happy to open health clubs in these cities. Both cities are upcoming commercial and residential hubs, and we anticipate spreading fitness to more such centres where we see huge potential and latent demand,” said Prashant Talwalkar, CEO, Talwalkars Better Value Fitness Ltd.
Anant Gawande, chief financial officer and whole time director, Talwalkars, said with the opening of health clubs in Kolkata and Guwahati, the company has further consolidated its leadership position in the health and fitness industry in India.
Talwalkars, Gawande added, was looking at aggressively expanding into other cities in the northern and eastern regions, including tier II and III cities, though, there were no immediate plans to take the franchise route.
