Scottish biotech firm Aquapharm Biodiscovery has signed a research and development agreement recently with specialty chemicals company Croda to develop a range of skin care products from marine microbes.
“Aquapharm is one of UK’s most promising biotech firms. Our collaboration thus far has led to many exciting new developments which promise to deliver novel and sustainable solutions for the personal care industry,” said Dr Keith Layden, President, Croda Enterprise Technology. “We are excited to now be able to bring all of that research to bear through our subsidiary, Sederma, which is dedicated to the development of active ingredients for the cosmetics industry,” he added.
Aquapharm Biodiscovery had signed its first contract with Yorkshire-based Croda in 2008.
