Global luxury retailers to meet in Delhi

Luxury players from across the world will assemble in New Delhi on October 11 for a dialogue on luxury retailing in India.

The participants, including top executives of international luxury brands such as Burbery, Jimmy Choo, Pomellato, Ungaro, Pucci and Loro Piana, will discuss the present scenario and issues inhibiting the growth of the luxury sector in India. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jyotiraditya Scindia, will inagurate the event, to be jointly held by CII and The Economic Times at the ITC Maurya hotel.

Both international and Indian brands see India as a growing luxury market which could become a sginificant part of their portfolio tomorrow, industry watchers say. The Indian luxury market, which stood at USD 4.76 bn in 2009, is clocking a CAGR of 13 per cent.
