Gitanjali Group has joined hands with the Siddhivinayak Trust to launch its second Gitanjali Jewellery Vending Machine (GJVM) at Mumbai’s Shree Siddhivinayak temple on the occasion of Akshay Trithya. The new GJVM by Gitanjali Group, which is a gold and diamond ATM, gives Shree Siddhivinayak worshippers an opportunity to purchase diamonds, gold coins, bars, and jewellery on their visit to the temple.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehul Choksi, CMD, Gitanjali Group, said: “We got an overwhelming response from consumers after the launch of the first GJVM and thus were keen to give Mumbai another one-stop shop for buying medallions, coins, jewellery, etc. Siddhivinayak temple is the most auspicious destination in the city for the second one as it is not only the home for Lord Ganesha but also attracts a large number of followers who come to the temple to get the lord’s blessings. So, now with GJVM, worshippers will get a chance to offer to deity or to take home the ultimate symbol of wealth and prosperity from the Lord’s house.”

Subhash Mayekar, Chairman, Siddhivinayak Trust said that the temple was pleased to be associated with the Gitanjali Group giving worshippers a chance to easily purchase gold. “We are sure that the devotees who come to the temple in large numbers everyday will utilise this gold dispensing machine to its fullest and we hope this will be well accepted by the masses,” he added.

The GJVM dispenses various designs and denominations of gold and diamond jewellery and gold and silver coins/bars to customers. It stores between 300 and 400 products when fully stocked in up to 18 different designs and denominations. The image, details, and price are displayed via a touch-screen, using which customers may browse through the various options and select the product they wish to buy. Post selection, customers may decide to pay by cash, card, or net banking options. Once full payment is made, the machine automatically dispenses the chosen product along with certificate of authenticity and receipt for the same.

According to the company officials, the self-vending machine allows a low-cost and convenient way to make products available to jewellery buyers in locations where space is scarce and traffic is heavy. Video surveillance system, code protected access, and compartmentalised design ensure that the kiosk operates with minimum risk even in exposed environs.
