Gautam Sharma has been appointed as the managing director of Indo Nissin, the Indian arm of Japanese food major Nissin Foods, the creator of Top Ramen noodles. He replaces Yuji Tabeta heading the Indian wing since 2007. This is the first time ever that a non-Japanese has been appointed as the MD of the Indian arm.
Sharma joins the company after running the consultancy for a year. Prior to that , he was associated with Wrigley India as the CEO. In the past, Sharma, an IIM-Ahmedabad pass out, has also worked with companies like GlaxoSmithKline.
A pioneer of the cup noodles in India, Top Ramen is the country’s third-largest instant noodles brand.
