Select CityWalk and Viviana mall bagged two awards each at the 7th annual Images Shopping Centre Awards (ISCA), held at the Renaissance Hotel, Mumbai, on day one of the ongoing India Shopping Centre Forum-2014 (7th & 8th May). Organised by IMAGES Group, ISCA is recognised as the most sought-after awards for the shopping center industry. A total of 23 awards in different categories were given away to the best retail and shopping centre businesses in the country, at a glittering awards night celebrating excellence in the shopping centre business. The night also applauded those who managed to pull off their business plans with aplomb.
The year 2013 was an action packed one for retail space development. More than 25 malls opened last year adding approximately 8 million sq.ft. of quality retail space. At the same time several of the older ones continued to raise the bar in terms of expansion of retail operations within them.
The ISCA jury of distinguished personalities in the field of research, design and consulting included Anuj Puri, Chairman & Country Head , JLL, India, Sanjay Dutt, Executive Managing Director- South Asia, Cushman & Wakefield, Stephen Roberts, Chairman – Bentel Associates and Amitabh Taneja, Chairman & MD, IMAGES Group.
Besides the eminent jury, the ISCA awards also was judged by some prominent names from the retail industry in India including Vishakh Kumar, More Megastore Store, Aditya Birla Group; Vinay Singh, Auchan, Landmark Group; Rajiv Gopalakrishnan, Bata India; Sahil Malik, Da Milano; Mark Ashman, Hypercity; Venu Nair, Marks & Spencer, India; Rajesh Jain, Lacoste India; Ashwin Babbar, Shoppers Stop; Kavindra Mishra, Pepe India; Himanshu Chakrovorty, Mobile Store; Ashish Dixshit, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle; and J. Suresh , Arvind Brands.
