Director
Pebbles Fine Dine Restaurant

An engineer by qualification, he started his professional career in the I.T industry. In the 1990’s the I.T industry was growing at a fast pace and being a rapid learner he soon founded a computer hardware company. Intrigued by the software scenario in India, he went on to specialize in the field of anti-virus software and thus was born Essen Vision Software Private Limited in 1995. Today, Essen Vision is a leading Network and security storage firm partnering with the world’s fore-runners like Symantec, McAfee and Websense. High profile clientele include Reliance, Siemens, Cipla, Lupin, Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, CRISIL, NSDL and L&T. The Shetty community has always been equated with the restaurant business, so when he was posed with the opportunity to be a part of Pebbles Restaurant in November 2011, he was happy to go back to his cultural roots but was very clear that this endeavor would be one which would incorporate his experiences of both the worlds — IT industry and restaurant business. Pebbles was the first fine dine restaurant in the city to introduce IPads to its customers in the restaurant. At the front end, the IPad interfaces with the customer thereby replacing the traditional menu card on the restaurant table and is integrated with POS (Point of Sale) at the backend. This ensures that the IPad is a tool for the customer, wherein he can actually order via the IPad as against it being a object of viewing the menu. He is credited with the implementation of software applications for the group’s hotels and restaurants to the extent that all information is available at the touch of the screen. With two decades of Corporate experience he quickly put into place systems and processes within the restaurant. The whole structure within the restaurant was revamped to emulate that of a corporate. This implementation was done in all the departments from HR, Stores to Kitchen. A weekly review mechanism was put into place in departments such as Sales and Production. The whole idea was to incorporate discipline and ensure growth and eventually help the Group when it would introduce the Franchisee Model.
