The much awaited Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin for the Spring 2015 season has announced the change in its venues. The show will be moving from Brandenburg Gate to the Erika Hess Ice Rink in the Wedding neighbourhood of Berlin.
IMG Fashion, owner and producer of the fashion week event, commented on the move to WWD, “This is a temporary move from the event’s permanent home, Brandenburg Gate.”
WWD is reporting the change is due to a scheduling conflict with the fan mile being set up around the Brandenburg Gate during the soccer world championships in July. In turn, IMG had to seek out a new site for the fashion shows that will be held this year from July 8 to July 11.
On a optimistic note Jarrad Clark, vice president and global creative director of IMG Fashion Events & Properties, pointed out “The fashion industry is about change, and we love having the ability to do something different for a season”.
