Speciality Group of Restaurants is in talks with the investors to buy stake in celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s SK Restaurants, according to media reports. The group runs restaurant chains such as Mainland China, Sigree, and Oh Calcutta. Formerly known as Indian Cookery, the company value of SK Restaurants falls between Rs 300 crore and Rs 350 crore as per an investment banker.
Indian cookery was launched by Kapoor four years ago through some 25-30 investors. PE player TVS Capital and Talwalkars (promoters of health-club operator) hold significant minority stakes in the unlisted entity.
SK restaurants runs restaurants like The Yellow Chilli, Pin Yin, Khazana, Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor and Sura Vie Lounge chains.
Speciality Restaurants operates 107 outlets in India, Africa, Middle East, and the UK.
