Pitti Uomo, Florence-based menswear trade show, is planing to focus on a large Indian group and promote Made in Italy’s excellence in India. This is the 60th event and a series of celebrations toasting Florence as the hometown of fashion are planned, along with the Italian Ministry for Economic Development and the City of Florence.
Pitti Uomo is a part of Pitti Immagine, a collection of fashion and luxury events themed around Italian fashion and clothing. There’s much music in the form of an Andrea Bocelli concert on the opening, and major film and automobile design events too.
But the highlight will be a “Born in Florence” tribute to the city by its favourite fashion sons — Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli and Ermanno Scervino — who will host fashion presentations at symbolic locations. Since more Italian luxury labels and bridge brands are trying to enter the Indian retail scene, this is going to be a well-attended affair. The likes of Future Group and Madura Fashion have already confirmed.
