Sabyasachi Mukherjee has opened theĀ flagship store at Ador House, K Dubash Margthe, located in Kala Ghoda. Spread over 8,500 sq.ft., the two-level store is an overview of Sabyasachi’s vision of Indian luxury. The store is highlighted with 22 vintage hand painted chandeliers and an Iranian carpet that has passed by many hands. The fashion store has 400 Ittar bottles painstakingly collected from Hyderabad and Lucknow. Various exclusive elements such as calendar art from the 20s, chintz curtains block printed on 200 count khadi, courtyard pillars from Gujarat and recycled colonial furniture. From imposing historical pieces to modern quirk like the Amul book, cluttered romance of Parsi and Bengali homes, to regimented structure of cantonment bungalows, the store has it all. It is a home to the designer’s much desired wedding collectibles, ready to wear saris, Indian and western formal and casual clothes. There is a dedicated section of menswear which is becoming quite popular. The quirky ‘Sabyasachi by Sabyasachi’ ready-to-wear line and his extremely popular fashion accessories will soon find their way in the store.
