Sattviko, a contemporary pure vegetarian restaurant recently conducted a workshop, ‘The food story workshop’ in collaboration with Darwesh, which is a Delhi-based storytelling organisation. The event was conducted at Sattviko’s outlet GK -II, M block market. The 2 hours long workshop aimed at inculcating profound interest in food amongst the attendees and sharing the history of food and various cuisines.
Prasoon Gupta Co-founder and Director, Sattviko, shares, “The thought that inspired the idea of a workshop was to make people aware about their food. As we continue our journey with Sattviko we come across facts, which enlighten us daily. We anticipated that this workshop will appreciated by the people and enhance their understanding about food, its taste and ingredients.”
The event was strategically designed like a story about the history of food. The workshop kick started with an introduction to food history through quirky tales of ravenous kings, thirsty travellers and hungry traders. Followed by drinks and salads making session. Drinks and salad session was followed by an interactive session with audience, where clues were given and participants had to guess the stories behind the clues. In addition to this, there was a demo cooking session by Sattviko’s chef, who also spoke on how the dish was conceptualised . The workshop ended with a session on Ayurveda and the evolution of Sattvik cooking.
