Dropbox’s VP Aditya Agarwal joins Flipkart board as independent member

Dropbox’s Vice President of Engineering Aditya Agarwal has joined India’s largest online retailer Flipkart as an independent member of the board of directors.

Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal said that Agarwal is one of the best technology minds in the Silicon Valley and his experience and expertise will be invaluable to the rapidly growing ecommerce firm.

Agarwal added: “Technology drives some of the biggest innovations in this world. I’m very excited to join Flipkart, which is building technology that can change the retail landscape of a country as complex as India — it’s an opportunity that has massive potential.”

Agarwal heads engineering at the US-based cloud-storage start-up Dropbox which offers a free service that allows people to bring their photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. He Aditya came to Dropbox via the acquisition of Cove, a company he co-founded in 2011 that was focused on improving group collaboration and communication.
