LT Foods Limited, one of the leading processors and exporters of packaged basmati rice in India, has introduced “Devaaya”, a range of staples that are hygienically processed and target health conscious consumers.
Available in select cities, the Devaaya range of staples includes Atta, Besan, Suji, Maida, Daliya, Poha and Basmati rice.
LT food’s decision to focus on branded staple foods is strongly backed by consumer insights and strong growth forecast within this industry.
The company currently manufacturers a wide range of organic foods, staples and healthy snacks.
“Consumers are concerned with cleanliness and safety of what they consume. They want to ensure that their choice of staples are grown without excessive use of chemicals and pesticides and that these are sourced responsibly and tested thoroughly before reaching them.
Therefore, now, consumers have a choice of ‘Saaf bhi, safe bhi’,”says Vivek Chandra, CEO, LT Foods.
LT Foods worked extensively with the experts of crop sciences and Government of Madhya Pradesh, under “ATMA” programme in PPP mode, to spread responsible farm practices. Carefully chosen grain goes through several tests to check for impurities to ensure that consumers get only pure and wholesome staples without any banned chemicals or pesticides or artificial colour or food enhancers.
Prices for Devaaya range of premium staples range from Rs 120 to Rs 220. This range is available pan-India at select modern trade stores namely, More, Metro and Reliance and in general trade only in the states of Maharastra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
