Chandni Singh, Managing Director, Chandni Singh Salon and Academy, had conceptualised the idea of opening an academy because she felt the need for a holistic beauty school that offered training under an able guidance. Singh says, “There are several kinds of make-up; be it bridal or make-up used in ads, fashion or editorial. To counter the burgeoning requirement of the salon industry, acadamies should open. Many aspiring students have asked a lot of questions related to make-up and hairstyling. When I got talking with them, I realised that they were looking for someone to mentor and guide them. I have always wanted the Indian beauty sector to be at par with international ones. I insist on practical techniques, rather than merely teaching. It not only helps realise the latent potential in the individual, but also enhances their over-all personality.”
Courses
The academy offers a basic course for eight days and the Pro Make-up course that spans 16 days. Classes are held four days a week between 11 am and 3pm. Students get to practice every alternate day on the premises. All classes are taken by Chandni Singh herself and she also holds personal make-up workshops which is a four hour session held during the weekend. The academy also offers hairstyling course for eight days where styling techniques are being taught to aspiring make-up artists.
Eligibilty
Any one who has the passion to learn the art of make-up is eligible for the course.
Fees
The eight days basic course is priced at Rs 40,000; the16 days Pro Make-up Course is for Rs 75,000; personal make-up workshops are priced at Rs 5,000, and eight days hairstyling course is for Rs 35,000. Taxes are extra.
