AskmeBazaar to extend 'Next Day Delivery' in 50 cities

AskmeBazaar.com, an online market place, has entered the southern market with its Next Day Delivery (NDD) hyper-local offering in Hyderabad.
Bringing deals from the offline players on the city-specific page of AskmeBazaar, the portal has tied up with 70 merchants in the city across 13 categories for delivery within 24 hours.
Currently, available in 22 cities, the NDD will be expanded to another 28 cities in the next few weeks, company announced its plans while launching the services in Hyderabad.
Currently you see hyperlocal delivery only in the grocery and food segments. We have launched our hyperlocal delivery in this segment in Delhi-NCR recently and will also scale it up over the next two quarters. As for the NDD service, we plan on expanding our services to 50 cities in the next two months,” Marichi Mathur, Head of NDD, AskmeBazaar said.
The NDD service has a minimum order value of Rs 1000 and only branded goods are traded over the platform, the company said.
“This model marries the best of hyper local and online commerce to offer the best quality products, picked from local retailers and delivered to the buyer within 24 hours of placing the order at no cost the customer,” he said.
Launched in 2013, Askmebazaar is the e-commerce platform of Getit Infomedia, which runs a listing and classifieds service with 1.3 crore small and medium enterprise (SME) partners. Malaysian media conglomerate Astra had acquired majority stake in the company with an investment of Rs 100 crore in 2010.
