Must Read

Snapdeal customers can now book bus tickets, flight tickets, hotel tickets and food directly from its application as it has integrated redBus, Zomato and Cleartrip inventory in its mobile application as a pilot.

After this association, redBus, Zomato and Cleartrip can have a direct access to the user base of Snapdeal. As per the deal, Snapdeal will be earning the commission for each booking made through its app. On the one hand, air ticket is a large gross merchandise value category  while on the other hand, food ordering is a high frequency category.
CEO of the company, Kunal Bahl had revealed it last year that the company is planning to surpass Flipkart in terms of GMV by March 2016. To launch real estate and financial services on the website, the company has tied up with real estate developers like TVS Emerald, Provident Housing and Runwal Group. However, the commission received on such transactions is yet to be made clear.
As per the industry experts, to monetise the traffic through non-inventory base model, the e-commerce players have started experimenting. In terms of physical space, these won’t take up any extra cost as these are service oriented offerings. Hence, it is expected that the e-commerce players will churn out extra profits out of it.
Just like Paytm, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon are also launching their wallets whereas two years ago, Paytm started tapping the e-commerce space.
