Wonderchef, celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor-promoted cookware and kitchen appliances brand, is looking forward to expand its distribution network and beef up product line and marketing. And for the same it is eyeing to raise Rs 100 crore.
With next round of funding, the company plans to invest in exclusive outlets and invest in manufacturing units in the country. Last year, it raised about $5 million from Zurich-based investment firm Capvent.
Wonderchef was founded in 2009 and is known for selling premium kitchen appliances, cookware and bakeware. The company sells products through different mediums like modern trade, general trade, e-commerce, tele-shopping and a direct sales channel comprising more than 40,000 women.
The company launched its first brick-and-mortar store in Mumbai and plans to add four more outlets in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Wonderchef currently outsources manufacturing of products and sources them from 86 factories in India, Italy, Germany, South Korea, China, Canada, France and the UK.
Wonderchef plans to enter international markets such as the Middle East, Singapore, the US, the UK and Canada in 2017.
