Myntra, a Flipkart Group company, has recently announced the appointment of Manohar Kamath as head of ‘Myntra Fashion Brands’ (MFB).
A seasoned leader in the fashion and retail industry with over 25 years of experience, Kamath will take over from outgoing head, Abhishek Verma, who had joined Myntra in April 2014.
“With over two-and-half decades in retail working with diverse brands, he is the perfect fit for our MFB business at a time when these brands will undergo a dimensional change by being the lead engines of our omni-channel strategy,” CEO, Myntra, Ananth Narayanan, said in an official statement.
Speaking on his new assignment, Manohar Kamath said, “I’m thrilled with my new assignment. I have watched the company grow over the years and build a strong portfolio of brands and I am looking forward to be a part of its journey to transform online fashion in India.”
Myntra Fashion Brands business has been instrumental in building a bouquet of 11 independent and differentiated fashion brands including Roadster, HRX among others. Private labels are a key part of Myntra’s omni-channel strategy, as it plans to open the first store in next three months under one of these brands.
Manohar moves into his new role at Myntra from Shoppers Stop, where he was the Chief Operating Officer & Director on the Board of Crossword Book Stores and Nuance (India).
His career spans building the denim business at Arvind with brands like Ruf & Tuf and delivering business turnarounds through relentless focus on the consumer at Shoppers Stop. At the height of his eight year stint with Shoppers Stop, he has lead National Retail Operations, Best Practices, Customer Relations, Visual Merchandising, Business Development, Projects, Institutional Sales, Administration & Maintenance and more.
