Patanjali to set up herbal and food park in Nepal

Baba Ramdev announced kn Sunday that he is planning to set up a mega herbal and food park in Nepal. He announced it in the presence of Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kumar Dahal at Patanjali processing unit in Haridwar.
Dahal, in India on his first official visit abroad after being sworn in as prime minister, visited Baba Ramdev’s Haridwar-based Patanjali Food and Herbal Park on Sunday.
Dahal said a processing unit would help improve the economy of Nepal and increase job opportunities in the country.
This will be Patanjali’s first park in a foreign country. “In November, Patanjali will set up the first unit of its food and herbal park in Nepal,” a statement by Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust quoted Ramdev as saying.
Patanjali, which is also focusing on the education sector, also announced a university in Nepal. The company has already said it would spend 80 per cent of the profit on education. Ramdev said “all these works which we are doing now are basically for improving education”.
Patanjali, which is seeking to achieve a target of Rs 50,000 crore in the next three-four years, is expanding its business by setting up four-five new food and herbal parks. The company has recently announced that its food and herbal park at Nagpur in Maharashtra would be ready by the end of the current financial year. The company is also setting up such units in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and other states.
