Cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s premium fashion label YWC has inked an exclusive deal with online fashion store Myntra. Apart from YWC’s website, YWC will be available online exclusively on Myntra, a statement released by the companies said.
The apparel will be manufactured by Suditi Industries – which holds distribution rights for YWC and has partnered with Myntra for exclusive online retail distribution. Suditi also supplies apparel to FC Barcelona, Manchester City FC and MTV.
“We have tied up with YWC as we see potential in sports inspired lifestyle fashion,” Ananth Narayanan, Myntra CEO, said in a press statement.
Yuvraj Singh’s fund YouWeCan Ventures became operational last year in April. It has financed many startups in healthcare, sports, beauty and fashion, food and travel segments. The venture is aiming to raise around Rs 300 crore from its investors in a span of three years.
YouWeCan – The Yuvi Story
YouWeCan is a foundation established by Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh to spread awareness about Cancer. Since Yuvraj has himself battled the fatal disease and was on treatment in the US, he took up the mission to help out the under privileged patients by forming this foundation. In September 2012 YouWeCan app was launched by Microsoft for the Windows phone. When a user buys this app, one part of its cost will go as a donation to the foundation.
In April 2015, Yuvraj Singh announced before media that he intends to invest Rs 40-50 crore in online startups. Recently he has joined hands with Suditi Industries and forayed into casual wear market to sell apparels for men, women and children.
