With an objective to reach 500,000 merchants in the next 12 to 18 months, MobiKwik, India’s largest independent mobile payments network with over 35 million users, has been focusing on strengthening its merchant base across organised and unorganised retail. It has announced partnerships with Croma, Pantaloons, Star Bazaar and ZopNow.
The company will power e-cash payments with its mobile wallet across pan-India outlets of these brands. MobiKwik already has a network of over 100,000 retailers including Big Bazaar, Big Basket, Grofers, Ezone and Dominos.
Speaking on the partnership, Chief Operating Officer, MobiKwik, Mrinal Sinha said, “Our aim is to make MobiKwik payments ubiquitous in India. With this objective, it is our constant endeavour to expand our merchant base. We are pleased to be trusted by leading brands as their e-cash partner.”
MobiKwik has also announced attractive launch offers to celebrate these partnerships. At Pantaloons, the Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd’s fashion and retail chain, users can get up to 15 per cent discount on their purchase through MobiKwik. The offer is valid across 160 stores located across the country.
Croma, India’s first large format specialist retail chain for consumer electronics and durables managed by the Tata Group and Infiniti Retail with 101 stores in 25 cities has up to Rs 1,000 cash-back offer for MobiKwik users.
Star Bazaar, a Tata and Tesco enterprise, is a multi-format hypermarket chain with 39 stores. The brand is offering 10 per cent cash-back with payments through MobiKwik.
ZopNow, the largest online hypermarket which delivers grocery items in three-hour pre-defined delivery slots in 11 cities, is also giving 10 per cent cash-back on purchases using MobiKwik wallet.
MobiKwik registers over 1.5 million daily transactions. An industry innovator, MobiKwik also allows users to load money in their wallet with cash. The company offers exclusive cash pick-up service in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Surat and Jaipur. In addition, users can walk into 100,000 locations in 10,000 cities to deposit cash in their wallet.
